About Us

After years of us working at demanding finance jobs in Providence and Boston, traveling for work, and spending many hours commuting, we needed a change.

In 2019, we talked about owning a family business where we could work together using our creativity and business backgrounds, plus stay in a community we love. I researched local businesses available for sale, and Whistle Stop Ice Cream – established in 1983 – appeared at the top of my list. The business offered homemade ice cream and a fun destination next to railroad tracks and near a beach. After spending time at the business, we both immediately felt a connection to ice cream, trains, and the seaside location. Clearly, it became a perfect destination for our business.

It’s important for us to provide our customers of all ages with a happy experience – one scoop at a time

Learning both ice cream production and business operations has been exciting. Having an ice cream machine on-site gives us the ability to make traditional flavors and the flexibility to create one-of-a-kind flavors. Many of the ingredients that get added to the homemade ice cream are homemade as well including the cookies and brownies that Wanda bakes.

Together, Wanda and I are willing to try new products, update the shop décor, and keep the business growing. Like other business owners, we’ve hit a few bumps along the way – sometimes a new ice cream flavor may not be a big hit. Equipment can break down, including the trains. And the supply chain challenges us regularly. However, happiness prevails.

It’s important for us to provide our customers of all ages with a happy experience – one scoop at a time. And serve them unique ice cream products every time they visit one of our shops.

Hope to see you soon!
